One of the greatest things about Graphic Design is how easy it is to create a compelling, attractive promotional piece using just the key information about your event.  Recently BVICE presented us with a need on very short notice to promote a celebratory banquet the Boulder Hockey Club was hosting.

Fortunately, the important and difficult work of orchestrating the actual banquet has already been taken care of.  Now, with the key information and some general direction, DistanceWeb was able to quickly take this:

And present these options to BVICE.  given the short time frame, they quickly provided one round of iterative suggestions and we settled on the piece on the right side:

Our sense is that this flyer and poster will attract eyes (and salivary glands?) and help grab attention and spread word of their event.

DistanceWeb has developed a blog-based website fo the Longmont Tigers, a local youth competitive baseball club.

With the website, the Tigers can keep their parents, families, team sponsors, and the local communitiy up to date on the teams progress and success through the season.

The site is based upon WordPress – using template modified from Balance of Blue
by Brandon Cox.  Basing the site upon Word Press allows for ease of updating the information by the client.  They can post news stories, edit player profiles and update other information with ease.

DistanceWeb did the original design and recently updated the Boulder Valley Ice at Superior three-fold brochure.  The Middle School Hockey League is another one of the many successful programs put on by the good folks at BVICE.

The outer portion features the updated BVICE logo and the inner is largely unchanged, save for basic text edits regarding details for this 2009 Spring season:

DistanceWeb has developed an updated brochure for Boulder Valley Ice at Superior and their annual Golf Tournament.

DistanceWeb developed a corporate logo for the Kids Sports youth foundation.  One of the best parts of the logo design process is the preliminary sketching and the preliminary computer illustration work.

In this project, we had a lot of rough concept comps in play, you can see some here: 

After presenting concepts to the client and going through interations based upon feedback, the process results in a great logo that the client is extremely happy with:

DistanceWeb developed a corporate logo for the FanPrints, LLC.  FanPrints was a fun startup in the sports affinity market – producing business-like cards for parents to showcase their children and their collegiate sports loyalties.

As we’ve said before, one of the best parts of the logo design process is the preliminary sketching and the preliminary computer illustration work.

In this project, we had a lot of rough concept comps in play, you can see some preliminary brainstorming sketches here: 

We started working with FanPrints as they were building their business model – this can be a challenge at such an early stage, but fun as well.  For one thing, the name of the company/product kept changing.  Was it Bragging Rights, LLC or MyFanCard LLC, or FanPrints, LLC, or something else?

We had fun keeping up with the process and brainstorming – here is a Bragging Rights concept:

The Bragging Rights name was tossed, and MyFanCard and the other options remained:

Alas, none of these names stuck, ultimately FanPrints, LLC was selected, and after presenting modified versions of the above concepts to the client and going through interations based upon feedback, the process results in a great logo:

The logo works well in black and white (all logos should) and played well in color and on color backgrounds – here you can see a web use with a “Powered by” bug for web pages as well as an HTML email header for Shipping Confirmations:

DistanceWeb once again developed the promotional print material – a poster/flyer – for the Kids-Sports Foundation annual “Monday Night Madness” event.

These events have always been great fun – and effective fund raisers.  This years event was back to Professional Football – centered around a Monday Night NFL matchup.

One of the fun parts of the design process is developing variations of concepts.  Once a concept is chosen, then, playing with stylistic variations on that concept becomes the next enjoyable part of the process.  Above you can see a few of the composites that we generated for Kids-Sports to review, provide feedback, and approve.

DistanceWeb developed a quick logo for our friends at Escalan for a web tracking service called Click Thru Stats.  In this case we had a pretty short timeline, and Click Thru Stats ran with the first concept we presented.

DistanceWeb developed this email invitation for Kevin Joseph of Event Savant.  Developing HTML for use in email can be a bit tricky – different email applications render HTML differently, and generally speaking is more restrictive than web browsers.

This was a fun invitation to develop and it was done on a tight timeline – a rush request.  While it is always better to have ample time to address a project, DistanceWeb is happy to jump in on any emergency project you have.  Contact us any time in an emergency!

DistanceWeb was proud to again be selected by Kids-Sports Foundation for designin the  the promotional print material – a poster/flyer – for their ongoing and successful “Monday Night Madness” event.

This year our design used a high contrast color set for maximum eye-catchability.  As well we used a fitting stock photo with some stylization that created a nice effect.

The poster/flyer concept for Kids-Sports is also adapted into HTML email for invitations and for online registration branding.

One of the first things on the todo list of a new business is some identity – business cards.  You need these pretty much before you need anything else, although pulling together at least an online brochure of a website is right there as well.

In our case, we went vertical, to be a litle different.  The alternating colors for contact details provide some contrast.  We also went with a full color back side.
