DistanceWeb did the original design and once again had the chance to update the Boulder Valley Ice at Superior three-fold brochure. The annual Golf Tournament is in its’ Seventh year – and going strong!
The core design of this brochure is still holding, however we refreshed the look in a few ways. Adding some gradient and texture to the background really helped step up the vibe of the piece – better matching the tempo and excitement that the rink offers it’s skaters and hockey enthusiasts.
We also added a new poster for this years promotion – including a fun photo illustration of a hockey stick hitting a golf ball. This is a fun combination of sports to play with artistically. Next year we have a photo shoot in mind of a geared up player actually addressing a golf shot on the course!
For the outer cover, not much changed other than the mentioned textures and information. On the inside, a new venue for the tournament provided some photos of the course, so on client request we integrated them.
These all went to print, however the poster design also was used on the web site.

One of the greatest things about Graphic Design is how easy it is to create a compelling, attractive promotional piece using just the key information about your event. Recently BVICE presented us with a need on very short notice to promote a celebratory banquet the Boulder Hockey Club was hosting.
Fortunately, the important and difficult work of orchestrating the actual banquet has already been taken care of. Now, with the key information and some general direction, DistanceWeb was able to quickly take this:
And present these options to BVICE. given the short time frame, they quickly provided one round of iterative suggestions and we settled on the piece on the right side:
Our sense is that this flyer and poster will attract eyes (and salivary glands?) and help grab attention and spread word of their event.

DistanceWeb did the original design and recently updated the Boulder Valley Ice at Superior three-fold brochure. The annual Golf Tournament is in its’ Sixth year – yet another one of the many successful programs put on by the good folks at BVICE.
The look and feel on these still work, though we opted for some different photography on the back side of the three fold. As well, we replaced the normal golf flag stick with a hockey stick! Duh – why didn’t we think of that before? This gives it a bit more of a tie in to hockey, that is fun, but not too extreme.
Looking forward to next year – we’ll see what kind of changes are in store then!

DistanceWeb just developed a new concept poster for the Boulder Hockey Club and Boulder Bison through Boulder Valley Ice at Superior. The Boulder Hockey Club offers some great camps for youth – BVICE wanted a new eye-catching poster to promote these camps.
We stuck largely with the deep blues that makeup the primary identity color pallette for all of these organizations. The only exception is the blood red – gotta have some blood on the ice with hockey, eh?

DistanceWeb once again developed the promotional print material – a poster/flyer – for the Kids-Sports Foundation annual “Night Out”. These events have always been great fun – and effective fund raisers.
A change from previous years, this years event centered around the NCAA National Championship football game, rather than a professional NFL game. The title game was the Orange bowl this year – so that was an easy play for us – who doesn’t like to put a big orange on their poster?

DistanceWeb once again developed the promotional print material – a poster/flyer – for the Kids-Sports Foundation annual “Monday Night Madness” event.
These events have always been great fun – and effective fund raisers. This years event was back to Professional Football – centered around a Monday Night NFL matchup.
One of the fun parts of the design process is developing variations of concepts. Once a concept is chosen, then, playing with stylistic variations on that concept becomes the next enjoyable part of the process. Above you can see a few of the composites that we generated for Kids-Sports to review, provide feedback, and approve.

DistanceWeb was proud to again be selected by Kids-Sports Foundation for designin the the promotional print material – a poster/flyer – for their ongoing and successful “Monday Night Madness” event.
This year our design used a high contrast color set for maximum eye-catchability. As well we used a fitting stock photo with some stylization that created a nice effect.
The poster/flyer concept for Kids-Sports is also adapted into HTML email for invitations and for online registration branding.
